cat and dog have found new "toys"
The cat has abandoned playing with dog kibble in favor of playing with the plug to bathroom sink. Instead of skittering across the floor after bits of kibble, she now delights in batting the bathroom sink plug around and hiding it under the bathroom rug

Meanwhile, we were awoken last night to this loud CLUNK of a noise... my partner mumbled "what was that?"

I flipped on light and there was our Sunny (greyhound) biting and pawing at a log. We have a wood stove, and fired it up last night. He decided to help himself to the stack near the stove. Guess he wanted to see if "bark" was worse than his "bite"

I took the log away and barricaded the stack to prevent midnight snacks

1. As long as there were
no strap-ons involved in cross-species action, I guess you are OK.

Friends of ours have a dog and a cat that thinks it is a dog. Those two need to get a room.

2. Oh, yes the alternate toy syndrome.....
we have a basket full of cat toys, but q-tips are MUCH better.

Although we do call the laser pointer "cat crack"
