I'm listening to the new U2 album...
I was able to procure a copy of it  and am enjoying listening to it while drinking copious amounts of alcohol. It's pretty damn good, loyal U2 fans won't be disappointed!

1. Why is the Apple commercial better than the actual single?
Heard the commercial first, but it's a lot tighter and really kicks...

2. I don't know...
but I will say it's definately a throwback to late 80's early 90's U2

5. I procured it too
I was just looking for 'Vertigo', and came across the whole album. I was shocked.

It's a very good album. Very similar to "Joshua Tree".

6. Thats what I thought too...
It's got that great late 80's U2 feel to it, but yet it is a completely unique album. I hope they tour in my area this summer!

7. what's your favorite track?
mine has to be city of blinding lights-which from what i've heard is bono's love letter to the fans

the 'all you look so beautiful tonight" chorus is going to be so powerful in those live shows next year

as a u2 fanatic, my reaction this album is pretty much a given, but i do think it's in their top 5- not quite as good as achtung baby, zooropa, or joshua tree, but better than atyclb and pop

8. I haven't decided yet...
I like to give an album a few listenings to before I can decide. I don't really think there is a weak track on it though.

13. Excellent. U2 is a class act.
I remember listening to them when "Boy" came out. I had a sense that they were going to make it big.

9. I still think "War" is the best U2 album. Followed by "October"
and then "Joshua Tree."

12. Is this new album up there among their best?
Some have said it sounds a bit like Joshua Tree.

15. I'm looking forward to it
I did hear about the copies that were leaked before the official release date. I love the "Vertigo" single.

Although in fairness, I find it hard to believe that this new album will live up to the brilliance that was "All that You Can't Leave Behind" or some of their earlier works.
