the longtimer kaboshes are mostly sad, but sometimes a relief. Some were stealth folks (like the green football folks), others were on the right side - but crossed lines (at times) into disruptiveness.

i wonder whether it would benefit DU to have a general amnesty for all but the worst violators ... just a thought ...

i can't speak to whether most did something "heinous" or not ... but i do know of a number of people who hated Kerry for his support of the IWR resolution and refused to back him ... and a few others who opposed the democratic party because they are "in bed with big business" ...

i can understand why people like this got tombstoned during the election ... but if our goal is to build unity on the left, i don't think we should plug up our ears now that the election is over ...

i think we should welcome "progressives of all stripes" ... if we need to crack down during the election cycle, so be it ... but we'll never get anywhere if we're afraid of those on the left who don't always agree with us ...

They may lock it, but you won't get anything but a possible rap on the back of the hand -- the admins and mods understand that sometimes people get curious about this stuff. Not everybody knows it's sort of an 'unknown known' that you don't question policy -- it won't reflect badly on you that you posted the thread, even if it gets locked. They'll just ask you not to do it again -- others have done this, and you didn't 'name names,' don't worry too much.

then seemed to disappear. There was one topic he would always show up on and be very disruptive, asking baiting questions and sucking people into his trying to manipulate the conversation, put words in their mouth. Weird stuff like that.

was it the one who said stuff like:

and

Or the one who said stuff like:

"We ALL have a stake in this, and we ALL need to do what it takes to get these arseholes out of power. The ONLY way that can be accomoplished is to convice people like the Nader voter that the Democrat party DOES want them and respect them.

Do you think this sort of attack, and the attacks over the last 4 years against them, is HELPING towards that goal?"

So what would you guess? The person throwing vile insults, or the person making mostly reasonable arguements that suggested Nader supporters need to be courted not insulted?

Well, I know who got tombstoned, and I know he will be getting tombstoned again very shortly.
