I was so eager to get him out of the crib so I could use it for my second child, that I taught him how to climb out of it.

But, what a number cruncher. God has his way of compensating.

What finally prompted my kid to make the change was when we were visiting someone who was petsitting a parrot. My kid was asked whether he was potty trained yet, and the parrot piped up "Use the potty".

The kid's eyes popped out so far I almost had to push them back in. It took about 2 weeks to get with the program. It's been about 3 years since this but the kid is now scared to be around parrots....
