IS IT TIME FOR ANOTHER BOSTON DU GET-TOGETHER??
We need to vent and down large amounts of alcohol.

Who's with me? And give suggestions for a venue - hopefully not the Peoples' Republic, I prefer a place with real tables

1. I highly recommend it.
We had a DU get-together in Chicago last Sunday and it was a helpful experience.

4. Busy monday and thursday nights...
Otherwise pretty openminded. Someplace without a lot of intentional noise (no band please). Not allowed ethanol, so I don't care about the beer selection...

Maybe one of the joints in Harvard Square area? Something with chairs and nubile college girls. :)

18. How about The Field?
Irish pub in Central Sq by the "T". Or 'Redline" in Harvard Sq?

Or Miracle of Science near MIT?

Or Temple Bar between Harvard and Porter?

19. Reporting for duty
Except that I'm out of town this weekend-- there's a chocolate fair in NYC :bounce:

Thanksgiving weekend with some trofs strikes me as a terrific idea.

The Field is kinda dark, although it is quieter than People's Republik (but what isn't?).

When I worked at Harvard, my watering hole of choice was Grendel's Den-- which was equally dark, but had a fireplace, and tables, and a menu of tasty stuff. Haven't been there in a decade, however.

The other advantage to Thanksgiving weekend is, if the usual clientele of a bar is college students, we can have it largely to ourselves.

I think we're spending Thanksgiving with Friends in NH, but no plans that I know of for Friday.
Could we wear name tags with our user names? Except with all the name changes I'll be confused.

The day after Thanksgiving sounds great
Grendel's Den sounds good, as is the place near the T where we met at the convention.
Let's keep this kicked a while and make a decision at some point.

make it someplace easy to get to and to park at.
