Well, for my 500th post, a big "thank you"...

...Rather than just announcing "500th post," I've decided to let whomever of you cares to know that I've just donated to DU and will hopefully "get my star" in a day or two, and that the biggest reason for my decision to donate was because of all of you...

When I first came on here, I thought I'd just make some novelty posts as "George W Bush" (my original username) for a few laughs and move on in a few weeks. I had dabbled with other boards and wasn't expecting much. However, the more I read the more I liked this place--you guys are pretty fun and interesting to be "virtually" around. Cultured, articulate, witty...the kind of crowd I like (even if I might not always be up to your standards, myself!!!).

I would have donated even sooner, but I was a little leery of putting my credit card info over the "Internets" (believe it or not, I've never ordered anything online before). Still, I figured all of you have done it with no problem, so why not me?

Anyway, thanks for all the excitement you added to my view of the campaign season, the consolation you gave once that season was over, and the inspiration and fun I look forward to sharing with you in the time ahead.
