who patrol all forums to tell DUers which topics are "real news" and worthy of discussion, and which ones aren't?

I have seen the DU LNP spend hours debating that a "non news topic" is trivial and not worthy of DUers' time. Oh, the sweet irony.

Why can't they just ignore posts that they deem "distractions?"

One person's distraction is another's news on a trial that might contribute to legal precedent.
