Who thinks they're going to be drafted now?
I'm a nurse and I have a teenage son and we don't want to go to war. My son doesn't even like to fight. He calls it doing his Gandhi thing and he walks away. We live in Arkansas but we aren't rednecks (I don't own a gun or a pick up truck) and I can't afford to move. So what do we do now?

1. I think it's wait-and-see
We're not ready for a draft yet. I think they would sooner bomb the hell out of every city in Iraq and causing mass genocide with missiles and bombs before issuing a draft.

2. If you're drafted simply refuse to participate.
It's as simple as that. If they start arresting people who are refusing to fight, then flee to Canada first and hope you're not on of the first to be tapped to go.

Will there be a draft though... I don't know, I really don't know. Something has to happen with our troop numbers though... Then again, maybe they just don't care if we can't hold the country properly?

3. The 1ID and 1st Cav. Division have recently been extended
just as the 1AD had before them. Units in the V Corp are heading out for their 2nd 1-1/2 year tours of either Iraq or Afghanistan after the first of the year.

Enlistments and reenlistments are down, for the Army and Guard/Reserve units.

It will be fascinating to see how the *ies take over the Middle East with the troop numbers we have now. All we can do is bomb. There are no more boots on the ground without further back-door draft extensions and multiple tours.

4. Everyone I know has kids that are draft age (or almost)
I hate what this country seems to have done (by fraud or otherwise) It's horrible.

5. I just don't know
I have a 14-year-old son myself. There is a possibility that more people will enlist if the Bush people continue to outsource middle-class jobs as well as open borders to low-wage workers - they'll enlist or starve. I know that's not true of certain workers, thus the special skills draft.

6. My security mom vote went for Kerry
I want our kids home safe and not in that fucking hell hole. I care so much about these kids. My stomach won't stop turning. This is awful.

7. Only 1 in every 10 kids aged 18-24 voted.
Sorry, but if there is a draft they have no one to blame but themselves.

10. I think it's going to be more than 18-24 year olds
and they consider this a mandate, so I think it's going to happen as soon as they can do it.

Our kids are still too young, but just barely and I did direct a friend in that age group to the polls.

8. I have not a clue.
I'm female but I doubt that'll save me. I think they'll put me in the medical area cuz I'm a bio major and saving the environment is never a fucking priority anywhere, except for possible the Peace Corps. :eyes:

9. I think the Draft was coming either way.
The damage Bush did has been done. The military can't meet it's manpower needs through recruitment. That wouldn't have changed no matter who wins this election.

11. At least with Kerry there was a chance they wouldn't
but now there is no doubt.

12. www.enjoythedraft.com
Here's a site for anyone who either didn't vote or voted * should check out. Only, ignore the whole "satire" thing. This is deadly serious.

Something else to consider
