I mean your point about them being unrealistic. Is the word ethnocentric appropriate? They are not connected to the real problems of this Country, or those of the outside world. They are happy to be in their little houses, shopping at the malls, in a world of fantasy and illusion. Also, they want more and more and more things and wealth, that's their American Dream.
