Poll question: Favorite Grand Funk Railroad Tune?
Direct from the '70s, the band the critics booed... but they still managed to sell a lot of records tho.

Which is your fave??

Indeed, and I do believe that Traffic covered the same tune...

6. "Queen Bee"................................
From the original Heavy Metal soundtrack. The drummer goes absolutely apeshit on the chorus of that track!

10. I had an album of theirs. It was red
I can't remember any of their tunes, but I think I liked this first cut on the A side-was it a hit or something

Black Sabbath opened for them in the Coliseum (home of the Seattle Sonics. Perfect acoustics for music :eyes:) I got in free, with my brother's gf; her dad worked there! I think it was 68-69. I remember 'Iron Man' but I passed out. I still remember my head hitting the cement and rolling around in slow-mo, but don't remember much of the rest of the evening. I did, however, pass muster by the end of the concert.

11. "Paranoid"
...From the "Grand Funk" album....not the Black Sabbath song but their own, complete with air raid sirens, a baby crying, and a screeching wah wah pedal...

And oh yeah I also liked their cover of "Gimme Shelter" too...

23. Last one for me was 95 in a 45 zone
way the hey back in the spring of 1979... :hippie: in NE Ohio.

I think it was Steve Miller's "Jungle Love", but not too sure tho.

That time was spent way too much in a funky haze - if you know what I mean. :smoke:

29. I was in college then...
My sophomore year.
I had an easy load of courses that did not require a lot of studying during the semester.
I had more friends in college than I did in high school and got to party hardy.

22. Whats the title of the song that goes...
I'm sitting here lonely like a broken man. Served my time doing the best i can. Walls and bars they surround me but I don't want no sympathy.

GREAT TUNE...MARK'S SOLO IS INCREDIBLE...I learned it as soon as I got good enough to figure out other peoples music by ear.

BTW...anybody who like the BS American Band crap never heard them when they were the ULTIMATE garage band. AB is so commercial.

25. "We're an American Band" - I love the slang of the day in it.
"That's a natural fact." "Hey, dudes, let's get it on." "The hotel detective, he was outasight."
