I love Curt Schilling BECAUSE hes a self-absorbed jerk! He bailed on Bush!

He canceled on Dumbo in new Hampshire--said his doctors told him he couldn't go because his foot wasn't up to it!

Hah!

Someone got to him, and even Curt knows Dumbo's going down, and he doesn't want to be too closely associated with a loser. Yup, it's all about Curt, and this time I'm glad!

Will this hurt Dumbo since half the crowd in New Hampshire showed up to his rally JUST to see Curt? Maybe only marginally, but it sure as hell can't help!

1. For one thing,the Red Sox owner is a Dem. For another, it's

bad for business for prominent sports figures to side in politics.
And that effects the whole team. Whereas, a solo act like Springsteen is free to take sides. It shouldn't have mattered but I was sort of bummed out, having rooted for the Sox to hear Schilling
inappropriately advertising for Bush.

2. He just should have waited a few days--instead, he injected politics into

the Red Sox celebration 12 HOURS after the victory. If he had said something on Sunday, and showed up with Dumbo Monday, fine.

Anyway, the way it turned out, it's for the best. Because, as I said, the people shwoing up in NH were largely showing up for Curt. Another thing for the Bushistas to get defensive about!

3. There have been 3 excuses for his no-show

in ...what....6 hours?

First, his doctor apparently told him he couldn't "travel" because of his injured ankle......(never mind his trips to NY and St. Louis)

Second, he "decided" he didn't want to dim the glow of the World Series win by doing this kind of partisan compaigning

Third, he was coerced into backing out by the Red Sox owners.

Ummm...I think it is OBVIOUS. He has actually been taken up to a space ship, (by Democrats, of course) and replaced by this clone who and will probably be sitting at the right hand of Kerry by tomorrow.

4. LOL--people wanted to see Schilling, not Dumbo

'Many of the people lining up Friday morning for Bush's rally said they were more excited to see Schilling than the president. That includes Republican Congressman Jeb Bradley, who was wearing a Red Sox cap and said he hoped Schilling would sign it.
