I want to make a Flash movie, need help.
Using still images I have collected and a powerful piece of classical music. Unfortunately, I don't know much about flash or video editing. Anyone know where I should start?

1. Wish I could help
but know nothing about the medium. Only thing I can help with is theme development (eg text/theme to match images/music). Sounds like you already have the concept worked out - so don't know if I can be of any help.

2. Sounds like a simple project
Do you have the application Flash already?

Unless you have a buddy who can walk you through exactly the few techniques you need to know to do this, I suggest you just slog through the tutorials which come with the program, which will teach you the basics -- i.e. importing images, creating timelines, transitional effects, sound synchronization, text titles, etc. ALso check the internet for Flash tutorials.

The other thing is you need to do is to storyboard your presentation, i.e. plan in advance what images/text you want to appear at what point in the music.

Learning the basics of Flash is very easy. (It does however become challenging at the advanced level.) You will not have much to learn to put your project together, based on what you wrote here.

5. yes, do what this poster said
Read the help files, they aren't there to take up disk space. A lot of time went into the tutorials to show you how to do everything you just described.

RTFM

3. There is a site called Limelight
That a friend directed me to one time. I never used it. The programs to make flash films such as PRemiere are quite expensive but that is one of the most popular flash programs.
