I think he could be an
evil Frank Burns of MASH (Frank could at least be a likable character some of the time - dubya isn't)
He is outwardly and overly religious
He was at the bottom of his class
"Oh, but we're doctors, we're trained to ignore people's pain".
He laughs at all the wrong times
"I didn't come here to be liked."
He had command of the English language
"I love the outdoors. Any time I'm not indoors, that's where you'll find me."
His view of leadship
"The way I see it, unless we each conform, unless we obey orders, unless we follow our leaders blindly, there is no possible way we can remain free."
He is a coward
"We all know it's brutal up there at the front, especially those of us at the rear"
He goes with his "gut" instincts
"That's what I understand from a very reliable gossip!"
He blames others for his mistakes (which he makes all the time)
He's mainly interested in making money
He likes his "mommy"
Frank: I'm taking this to a higher authority.
Trapper: Aw Frank, you're not gonna call your mother again!
He doesn't "get it" when others make fun of him
"It's only the people who know you that don't give you any respect."
He likes it when others suck up to him
Margaret: They love you, Frank.
Frank: It was their hatred that fooled me.
He doesn't like people who disagree with him
"Stop laughing without me."
He loves to command the troops
"I think you will all agree that by trying to introduce more discipline, more order, I have hopefully made this a more enjoyable war for all of us. Leadership is a lonely business. Your Napoleons, your Kaisers, your Attilas the Hun, were alone there in the front office as I have been this week. I have thought of you. I know you have thought of me - but some of the notes in the suggestion box were really below the belt! I mean, why drag my mother into this?"
And what I think may be the funniest thing - while looking for quotes from Frank Burns, I found this article:
Frank Burns remembered
"M*A*S*H" star saluted from the campaign trail.
By Jake Tapper
http://dir.salon.com/politics2000/feature/2000/04/13/linville/index.html
Campaigning in Watts, Texas Gov. George W. Bush said, "I liked his acting a lot, though "M*A*S*H" was typical Hollywood, uh, liberal, um, point of view. Larry Linville, who played Frank Buns, was a great Ameritian, and will be mixed. Not only by me and others in my campaign, but by the people of our country and not just Albert Alda."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! - um, liberal, um ...... will be mixed (??) ..... not just Albert Alda
