What Was the First Car You Remember Your Parents Having?
I can remember back to 1956. My mother had a Studebaker four-door sedan. My father had a Nash Rambler convertible.

26. 1969 or so Peugeot

When I was about 4, my mom was driving and some lady hit us head on, that was the end of the Peugeot! Luckily we were both okay (I bit off half my tongue, as I was probably yapping my mouth off and bounced off the dash), and neither of us were wearing seatbelts (no one did back then)

17. My parents divorced...
...so my mom needed something small and cheap in 1970 - VW Beetle, red with a white interior. I can remember standing (yep, standing) in the front seat while she would tool around.

My dad had a Jeep, red, but it got totaled in 1972 when he was cut off by another driver on the highway. He drove a huge Impala after that.

My favorite was my grandmother's car...wish I could remember what it was now! It was white and she had a smiley face sticker on the back window.

It was white and yellow, like the second one in the pictures; probably was a 1959 model. They had it only a couple of years before trading it in on a Buick Special V8 that was dubbed the Green Hornet (not a bad car for a crapola piece of Detroit iron).

My dumbass brother drove the Green Hornet into the ground during his hippie period; I think he was too stoned to remember to change the oil.

62. Of Course Not!!
That's a '66 Ford Country Squire. Seat belts weren't mandatory until the '67 model year.

My father decided seat belts were a good idea, ao he bought six sets and installed them in our '59 Plymouth in 1961. So I got used to being belted in ata an early age. Until I learned to drive - my first three cars ('58 Hillman, '61 Peugeot, '62 VW Beetle) had no seat belts.

a small metal ring inside one of his old Greenlee punches.

I recognized it immediately as a piece of the green body of our familiy's 1951 Chevy DeLuxe sedan. Dad had punched a hole in the body to install a radio antenna.

That little green ring was in perfect condition and brought back a lot of fond memories for both of us.
