4. Whatever
YOUR guys last went in 1987.

MY guys NEVER HAVE GOTTEN TO GO...PERIOD!!!

Now, if you can't understand the bitterness this causes, and you cannot understand a Texan fervently hoping for the obliteration and annhilation of the team that broke our hearts, well, then too bad for you.

YOUR guys have gone before. Recently, too.
OUR guys never have gotten to go. We shoulda gotten to, this time...but y'all screwed us up, and I can't find a true Texan anywhere that isn't pleased as HELL that the Cards got their butts handed to them!

8. After the last 4 years,
I'm not sure anyone that calls Texas home should be eligible to win anything again.

10. Not ALL Texans Are Like Duh-bya!!
PLEASE, do not make the mistake of associating ALL of us with Duh-bya...and please do not paint all of us with a broad brush.

For my part, I apologize profusely, on behalf of my state, for inflicting our former governor on you!

As m,uch as we don't want him here, either...we'll gladly take him back, just to get him the fuck outta the White House.

Please do not wish suffering on the rest of us in Texas just because of one asshole from Connecticut who CLAIMS to be a Texan!

11. Do you really think that the fact the Cards have gone recently...

is any kind of comfort for the sweep we just had to painfully watch?

Don't get me wrong - the Sox played good ball, they were the better team, they deserve the Championship - they certainly earned it.

BTW: "That's what you Redbirds get for beating my 'Stros"?

Uh, that's what we get for not playing better baseball.

and "You screwed us up..."?

What, you were expecting STL to let you win?

"Oh, here's a big hug, you lovable 'Stros - here, take the pennant, we don't need to play the games."

:wtf:

6. Yes. 1946, 1967, 1975, 1978, 1986, 2003 - CLEANSED!
To those in MO - unlike the MFY, St. Louis fans are a very classy, proud group of people.

I hope, as a lifetime Red Sox fan, to see a Cubs or Cards WS win soon.

7. Cards Wn One Not Too Long Ago
And I hope the Cubs NEVER win anything. I couldn't tolerate that. Because the Cub fans are particularly obnoxious. So much so that I'm on a yahoo group for cub haters.

How about a freaking TEXAS pennant for once??

Now that the Rangers are no longer in the same Division as my beloved White Sox, I can root for them, too. But if it came down to it, here's how I'd have to go...

Rangers vs White Sox = Root for White Sox
Rangers vs Astros = Root for Astros
Astros vs White Sox = Root for White Sox

Old loyalties come first, and my first allegiance has been, and always shall be, to the White Sox. (I am a transplanted Texan...born in the south Side of Chicago...) Secondly, the Astros. And thirdly, the Rangers.

And I agree with whoever said it about MFY. I can't stand the Yankees, either. Arrogant, obnoxious fans with a sense of entitlement. They have been there more than anyone else, and they oughta damn well give other teams a chance to be there!

Far as I am concerned, once I have seen the White Sox, the Astros, and the Rangers all get to go to the WS, THEN...MAYBE...I might be okay with the Cubs going, but I'd still root for them not to go...or to lose if they did go. Can't stand the Cubs.

9. A sad Cardinal fan here...
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 02:35 AM by WildEyedLiberal
... who agrees wholeheartedly with you about the Cubs. I hope they never go to the Series. Gawd. Every time they have a season above .500, they are ALL UP IN YOUR FACE about it, talking shit, and acting like they're one stop from the Series. I am on a campus FILLED with Cub fans who all rooted for the Red Sox solely to spite the few Cardinal fans around here. This is after they were all predicting the Cubbies to go to the Series this year and the Cardinals to finish third in the NL Central. Sounds like sour grapes to me!

Now, I am glad for the Red Sox, and I think they are deserving of their victory. I do not begrudge any true Sox fan his or her euphoria. Kudos to them. But all those obnoxious Cub fans can suck it, as far as I'm concerned. :grr:

On edit: NOT all Cub fans are like this. I'm simply referring to the trash-talking, in your face, obnoxious Cub fans, whom I've always considered the "Yankee fans" of the NL in their boorishness. I'm sorry, but if your team hasn't won a series since 1908, you aren't allowed to trash anyone. Sorry. Not even the Expos.
