Lance Armstrong in the Maillot Jaune (Yellow Jersey) today
Just listened to the race live...he came in third in the stage...did not win on Alp D'Huez but is #1 in the GC...

Iban Mayo won the stage.
Alexandre Vinokourov came in second.
Lance was third. Survived MANY attacks.
Tyler Hamilton of the double clavicle fracture put in an IMPRESSIVE show of willpower today...!!! Seventh in the stage win!
And Jan Ullrich?? 13th in the stage, and Lance has over a minute on him.

OLN will show the taped coverage tonight at 8. They did not show the race live this AM, I listened on Windows Media Player.

1. I was listening
Lance did great today, but I was blown away by how good Tyler Hamilton did with a double broken clavicle. A profile in courage.

2. Last year he rode with a broken bone.
Edited on Sun Jul-13-03 11:19 AM by alfredo
He rode through the pain, grinding down his teeth to the point where several had to be capped. Pro cyclist are incredible.

Lance will have to destroy the competiton on the 21st.

3. Pro cyclists and hockey players amaze me
They endure incredible suffering for the sport- that really takes guts.

21st is the individual time trial, isn't it?

I think he will win the race again this year, but he has some hot competition! :-)

Oh, Lance and Roberto Heras had a crash today- touched wheels and went down. Made the stage all that more wild and wooly. They did incredibly well considering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. Ulrich looked like a truck full of Rednecks had chased him up the Alp...
And caught him a few times, too...He's what now, 3 minutes back, and was so stove in the race doctor had to hold him up...

Stick a fork in'm he's DONE!
