Hello,
Here are some tips to deal with suffering the crushing losses that sometimes happen in baseball:
1. Realize that there is more to life than baseball. You didn't make it to the World Series, not the end of the world. It's hard to make it to the World Series. There are other things more important in life, like beating George Bush. So focus on those things and don't think about baseball.
2. Remember that, to make it as far as you did, you had to have a good team. You spent a record amount of money on talent, and you also had a talented manager and a high level of competitiveness. Not making it to the world Series does not mean your team is a failure. Even the best fail sometimes, like the Soviet Union Hockey Team in 1980.
3. You have 26 World Championships, 17 more than the next most successful team. What do you have to cry about? Even if you didnt' win 26 world championships, youd at least be proud to have a team that brought you exciting action and good times during the season.
4. Some teams fail to win a world series in 86 years, other teams become the first team ever to lose a series after coming within 3 outs of a sweep. We all have our ghosts. It's part of the charm of baseball.
5. Know the mantra of all that fail: "There's always next year".
