1. hey, can i get some kelzmer advie from you?
i am not very familiar with the genre's artists. i have one Klezmatics CD, but i am looking for klezmer music that is very high energy and fast. i don't really care about singing and i am not really after the slower songs. one time i saw a klezmer band playing at some celebration on TV and they had an electric guitarist, i would love to here something like that.

can you point me too some fast/high energy klezmer music/artists? thanks!

2. Brave Combo does some fast klezmer, but they're not strictly klezmer

The klezmer bands I've heard, including the Klezmatics, Dave Taras, the Metropolitan Klezmer Orchestra, Andy Statman, etc., mix it up because klezmer itself mixes it up, often within a single song. Dave Taras's band, which goes back to the 1950s, I find to be the most consistently thrilling of all.

PS: Balkan wedding music is very similar to klezmer, and some of that is also breakneck. Ivo Papasov's band is really great.

4. try Klingon Klez
http://www.klingonklezmer.com/

They have an album out called Would You Be Meshuga Tonight?

One of the songs is titled A Nice Jewish Wedding in New Orleans.
Blues mixed with klezmer. They're worth a try.
