14. two things
1. gargle with warm salt water immediately and do it again in a couple of hours

2. disinfect your toothbruth with boiling water daily until this is gone. If you don't you just reinfect yourself.

19. Terwilliger, you must have hot tea and
chicken noodle soup (Campbell's will do) and a sympathetic person to wipe your brow and bring you a cold hand towel to press upon your hot brow. Vick's vapor rub has no therapeutic value whatsoever, but will make you feel like you feel better whilst you suffer. Take care and drink lots of fluids and get plenty of rest. PEACE, Nona

28. The cognac cure
This doesn't take much, about 1/4 of a shot of cognac -- tip your head back, take a sip, let it drizzle down the back of your throat. Helps it feel better and kills bacteria.

Seems to help a lot to ward off a serious sore throat when you catch that first little bit of soreness...

you from future colds. Also, I have found tea with honey and lemon quite soothing for a sore throat. I'd make this for you if I could!:-)

41. Brew up some Cat Whiskers and Toad Toes.
If that doesn't work consult some tea leaves and call Nostradamus in the morning.

Also, remember this, every flu of "bug" eventually goes away, unless it kills you.

Cheers:-)

46. I think I'll go sniff my jar of Vicks....
....just for nostalgia purposes and in anticipation of winter's colds. Little blue jar, sooothing smell, grease up your chest and neck and put on flannel PJs.

I find those little sniffer tubes of Vicks excellent at keeping the nasal passages clear in the winter, too. I keep one in my coat pocket.

Smells are the most evocative for memories, good or bad. I think that Vicks is a good one for all of us, despite the fact that we were all probably quite sick when we first smelled it! I love those tubes, also! LOL! :D
