1. that sucks
Excellent use of adjectives too.

But seriously, that is horrible. I don't know what else to say, because having had my bike stolen, I know there's not much to do but mourn and be pissed off

3. Once, a kid stole my little bro's bike from our home...
This happened when I was about 12 or 13, and my bro was 11 or so. One kid came to the front door to ask if we needed the yard mowed, and the other older teen went around to the garage and lifted the bike.

The three of us loaded up in the car, and drove down Main Street where we spotted this oversized teen peddling down the road on the bike. My 5' tall, 100 lb. mother jumped out of the car, chased the boy down and literally THREW him off the bike and then held him by his wrist until the cops got there.

Needless to say, my brother got his bike back and I, a rambunctious, rebellious teen, learned never to physically challenge my mom, because she could kick my ass.

4. Is the potential for a used bike in the non-too-distant future
a possibility?

We have a lot of shops here in Seattle that repair and sell previously owned bicycles for less than the hefty fees required for an entirely new purchase.

I know it's a pain to have some rat-bastard steal your stuff. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

stolen was used (my brother). I live in seattle's greenwood neighborhood and don't know where they sell used bikes. Care to enlighten?

8. Ring any Used Bike Shops & watch local papers for ads......
Seriously.......some mates of mine once got all their music gear stolen. They rang around the major 2nd hand music shops the next day, and one said, "Hang on, we've got some guys in here now trying to sell us exactly that equipment......We'll call the police."

It's worth it - most shops don't want to risk selling stolen goods and will look out for your bike for you. It may appear in the 2nd hand ads of the local paper.

But I am sorry for your loss.

P.
