1. Bif
Only thing that matters is what the EV vote says on Nov. 2

Remember lots of new voters and lots more young voters, both favor the Dems.

2. I quit using that site

They simply use the latest poll, no matter who did it.

For instance, it's a Republican pollster that's showing Bush ahead by 8 in Ohio. No way is that true.

4. Read the commentary on the page

The map is using Strategic Vision(GOP) polls on some key states that the Chicago Tribune reported on yesterday. Strategic Vision(GOP) gave all of the states to Bush while in the Trib poll Kerry led.

5. Only slightly less than 50%....
...of the country is clueless. Still, that's a sad number.

I have taught myself to -- mostly -- stay away from the electoral-vote counter. The fluctuations are too nerve-wracking.

6. check this link before being depressed
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/Presidential_04/oh_polls.html

RealClear is a Republican site, but even he knows enough to ignore Strategic Visions data that is included in electoral-vote.com

7. Under pressure from freepers, he started using Strategic Vision polls.
Strategic Vision is a Republican polling firm, and skews pro-Bush anywhere from 4-8 points. Whenever a new Strategic Vision poll hits, he uses it if it's the most recent poll.

That's why OH, IA, and WI have gone to Bush in today's map, and the Strategic Vision poll nearly tipped PA to Bush as well, even though other polls are indicating that the race in Pennsylvania is all but over (Kerry +8, in some polls).

When the next "unbiased" polls come out in OH, IA, and WI, I fully expect two, if not all three states to go back in the Kerry column.

9. I'm not worried at all
It's Strategic Vision. Strategic Vision's vision is to give numbers that the Repukes want to hear. I mean, latest New Jersey polls have Kerry well in front.

10. It was showing Kerry at 280 yesterday.
It goes back and forth a lot. Cheer up. Tomorrow will be another total.
