"First Pussycat dead pool" of sorts
I wonder how much anyone is willing to bet that WILLIE INDIA or Shrubbie's or *'s cat is still alive and with us and SOCKS CLINTON - CURRIE had to be "put down" due to some "older cat" affliction (i.e. like Chronic Kidney Failure), I wonder how much anyone is willing to bet that the opposite is true or even bet that both cats hadn't yet "gone over the Rainbow Bridge."

Don't mind me, but for some reason, I couldn't help but be thinking of Socks or that certain former "First Pussycat," and wondering what he's doing now and it also hit me that by now he would be an "older cat" of what? 13?, 14?

1. Almost all of my cats made it to 18 yrs
...but then they did not have the pressures of the WH.

Kidney failure is horrid and I hope to never go through it again.

(reminicing on my babys)

:scared: for Socks and maybe Willie India both since Socks is now possibly 12, 13 or 14 and Willie India is of an indeterminate age and both cats may be cases of renal failure waiting to happen.

Had one kitty who made it to 17 until feline hyperthyroid syndrome or feline hyperthyroidism and chronic kidney failure got her, she was a CALICO named Ginger, had another kitty who made it to 15 until he had to be "put down" due to kidney problems a little more than 4 years ago, he was a black DSH or domestic shorthair named Midnight. Hope I have that kind of luck with my present cat, Merlin in terms of reaching that old of an age.

BTW, I also kind of feel sorry for Willie India as she has the Shrub or * as a keeper.

On edit I may put the "smart money" on both cats still being alive since I read somewhere that Socks was nominated as the "cat of the year," for an upcoming New York cat show and I am sure Willie India still has her own White House web page.

3. I wondered the same thing about Socks
Haven't heard much about it.

I do know Buddy the chocolate lab was killed by a car a few years back.

4. Am sure Socks is still alive but must be quite an old cat by now, but as

for the pets of the CARTER White House, I am sure neither Grits or Misty Malarkey Ying Yang were still alive.

On edit I read in DOG FANCY magazine that it was an SUV that killed Buddy, and also read an article in the same publication that Chocolate Lab dogs could be quite "accident prone."
