1. Laura is wearing a snappy little number that she ripped right off
of Jenna's bedroom window. That's right folks, this year, the Pella look is in! :-)

11. "I just saw it in the window, and I couldn't resist..."
...probably the best line ever from the Carol Burnett Show in their 'Gone with the Wind' parody (right after she makes a formal dress from the drapes, leaving in the pleats and rod)

6. Have to agree...
maybe she didn't have anything she wanted to wear that wasn't blue...as ordered.

That said, pickle's suit looks like she bought it from Sunday-supplement mail-order. The scarf *could* have helped, despite the pattern, had she any clue how to actually wear accessories (hint: don't take fashion tips from Karen Hughes -- had hers tied nearly the same way with that unfortunate olive drab double-breasted number the other night). That is the school marm shawl knot -- when I saw her from behind and above the waist, with others obscuring the view, it wasn't so bad.

7. The suit is fine, it's that awfully TOO BIG SHAWL
That shawl is something to hide behind.

A little scarf at the neck would have been perfect.

8. That's not a shawl. It's the curtains from the blue room
I think she's trying to sneak them out. ;-)

10. I agree with some others -- the suit's not that bad.
The horse blanket-sized shawl is a bit much, but at least I don't feel the usual incipient sense of shame, looking at that picture. The skirt isn't so tight she looks like a Gibson girl (or worse, a package of Jimmy Dean's sausage), it actually fits, and it's not some horrid 'just a bit off' shade of blue.

I pound on her when she dresses badly, so I guess it's only fair that when she doesn't screw up (or her dressers don't) I should admit that, too. She probably didn't pick the blankie, and maybe she'll give it to Shrub so he can curl up with it in the back of the limo on the way to the hotel and suck his thumb while she tells him he's a good boy and ruffles his hair.

12. Didn't the First first lady (Hillary) look great in blue...
ice blue gilded by the slim silver jewelry at the throat. I thought it was great that the first lady wore blue after Laura's witchy admonition to Theresa wearing blue (Laura must think there is only one shade of blue! lol).

Hillary looked great and so did Theresa. I was looking to see what Theresa wore after the comment about the blue suit...by the way, I think Laura wore white purposely at the first debate because she knows Mrs. Hienz Kerry wears it often and looks good in it as mentioned by someone else earlier. I only had a quick glimpse at Theresa...I think it was a chocolaty black suit with pale shell pink accent...colours that would look great on her!

Anyway, I was waiting to see if anyone would mention this...and I'm glad you did. It has more relevance to me than the red sox comment that went over my head.

It was something fun to observe.

Laura didn't look very good.

17. Theresa always looks good
Early Hillary had her fair share of ugly suits (blinding purple ringing a bell to anyone? Turquoise?) but Laura's outfits make even those look decent.

14. If I had her money and access...
I'd sure be dressing a lot better than she does (even if I were 20 years older).
I don't know. A part of me hates the critique of public women often solely based on their looks, but another part of me realizes that those of us with self-esteem take pride in our appearance, wanting to present ourselves in a decent way. I kind of feel sorry for Laura. She doesn't seem like happy or strong woman. She kind of seems like she's evolved into a sort of sad drone.

While I did think Teresa looked better, Laura's outfit wasn't bad. Both ladies looked classy.
