Over/under is 97 times the Trojan band plays Conquest, no matter how inappropriate at the time.

USC has more talent, especially on defense, and should prevail at home. But Cal's win last year was hardly a fluke, they led the entire game and could have blown it open other than one wide open receiver who Rodgers missed for a TD. I think USC also had a defensive TD. Remember, a year earlier in Tedford's first year Cal stunned USC with a 21-3 lead at the Coliseum before falling apart in the 2nd half.

Tedford is probably the hottest coaching commodity out there. The NFL is drooling over him, especially with all his offensive success including tutoring so many top QBs at Oregon and Cal. He secretly interviewed with Chicago and Atlanta last year. Cal will really have to upgrade their facilities and make a commitment to football to keep him. Mariucci bolted after one year in Berkeley.

I was born and raised a Golden Bear, and graduated from there '85.

While I'm happy they're doing well, I've learned over the years never to get your hopes too high. They'll break you heart. (Except when they execute a five-lateral kickoff return to beat Stanfurd on the last play of the game – I was there.)

But this Tedford and his teams are a different animal. We'll see.
