OK DU musicians and producers - how is classic dub made

Some explanaitions of technique would greatly help with my music making escapades

1. what do you mean by "dub"?

a copy? analog or digital? tape or computer?

a "dub" mix? llike reggae dub?

2. Classic dub used a bunch of tape loops, not electronics

But I think you can cheat and use digital nowdays.

not tape loops...

echo/reverband good solid bass makes for the good bass

the only thing that might be a tape loop is some of the old space echoes...

but you better believe people like Scratch and Mad Professor are using loads of digital today...:)

6. ohh the old dub echo effect

was from a tape echo. like an echoplex or roland space echo.


no reason you couldnt do it digital now.
