3. Well, can you rent it from Blockbuster and burn it to another DVD?
The FX were pretty good, but the story so-so; I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it...

4. I love that movie
the look of it - and now the cool retro "video arcade" quality - long before anybody ever heard of Laura Croft.

maybe I'm just nostalgic
(I'm still trying to get my atari 2600 working again)

:smoke:

wait, what was the question?

5. Crap.
It was cool at the time it came out, but really, really lame in hindsight.

6. Not much.
I remeber when it first came out and was considered "cutting edge". I thought it was lame then and even lamer now.

Of course this guy might have a differnt opinion.

8. I saw it on my 13th birthday, the day it opened
and I've really liked it alot since. I've watched it only sporadically since then, on cable, and occasionally on VHS, but do not have the DVD (yet). I also really enjoyed "The Black Hole".

I have the DVD, it's great.

CGI before it became routine.

11. It's pretty good if you're stoned.
No, wait, I take that back. It sucks. But if you're stoned you won't care.

Used to love to watch it stoned. I watched that movie so damn many times, I can't tell how many times.

it's cheesy, yeah, but it's also historic.

And if you're into computers on a geek-level like I am, you might find it almost a religious experience.

End of line

17. As mentioned
It's a significant movie in the genre, if you're looking for completeness. I know two public libraries I've visited recently had the VHS, you might check it out for viewing before making the final decision.
