Which comic series would you like to see made into movies/tv series?
I'd love to see a Watchmen movie, not to mention V For Vendetta, and a Dark Knight Returns movie would kick copious amounts of ass, but the thing I'd like to see more than anything is a Preacher cable series, possibly on HBO. Preacher just barely edges out Sandman as my favorite comic series of all time, and I'd love to see it adapted for cable. The only real problem is finding just the right person to play Jesse Custer, and I can't think of anyone at the moment.

1. Transmetropolitan
Supposedly optioned by Patrick Stewart! He's PERFECT for Spider Jeruselem!

2. Yeah, I heard that too and said "Meh"
Patrick Stewart's WAAAAY too uptight to be Spider! The only similarity I see is the baldness.

Transmet's a good book though. Warren Ellis is another one of those guys who I lump in with Garth and Neil and Alan Moore and the guys I consider the beats of the comic industry.

3. The Invisibles
Although, knowing Hollywood, it would probably be a cheezed out suck-job.

5. Invisibles would be amazing,
except that the Wachowski brothers ripped off most of what made it special already. Patrick Stewart will be good as Spider I think. He wrote the intro for one of the Transmet paperbacks and is a big fan. I'd really love to see a good Hellblazer movie. Unfortunately, Keanu Reeves signed on to play John Constantine so its not fucking likely.

6. Yeah, first it was Nic Cage (puke) and now Keanu?
Those asshole studio fucks need to listen to Alan and get Sting to play the part. Or at least Russel Crowe, or better yet, Guy Pearce.

John Constantine is my favorite Vertigo character, and I don't want to see him played by Keanu.

9. Well, I included him because Russell Crowe is an asshole
And as meh as Count Of Monte Cristo and The Time Machine were, they were neither nearly as egregious a sin as the hellish drop that was "A Beautiful Mind".

11. Family Circus as written by Gary Larson
Little Billy follows a dotted line to a pack of anthropomorphic jackals.

1 million cool points to anyone spots that reference.

That's the one that got me back into comics after a long abscence. Definitely Alex Ross' best work.

18. The novelization of it is excellent...
...including the risque chapter the press had the writer rewrite. The original can be found online (Superman and Wonderwoman get freaky.)

22. ROM - The Space Knight

Back in the late 70s, when my good friend George Sportelli and I use to collect comics, my favorite series for the longest time was "ROM - The Space Knight". He was an alien from another planet who gave up his physical form to be grafted into the body of a cybor warrior. His missions was to help ride the galaxy of deadly aliens known as Dire Wraiths.

At the time I thought it would be a cool series to rival the Hulk that was on TV at the time. Guess I still do!

Loved the Micronauts. I remember that my Micronaught Biotron and Raydeen(sp?) from Shogun Warriors were my favorite toys at the time.

I mean the real Japanese version of "Gatchaman." Not the sanitized-for-American-kiddies version known as "Battle of the Planets" or "G-Force."
