CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. -- A 16-month-old Pennsylvania boy survived a fall from a third-floor balcony at a beach hotel, authorities said.
Jacob Murray, who was visiting with his family from State College, Pa., fell 30 feet onto the pool deck at a Howard Johnson's Express at 7:47 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The child was on the balcony watching birds with his family when he slipped through the 6-inch gap in the railing. He was breathing and started crying when paramedics arrived, a witness said.
The boy's father, Dennis Murray, rushed to the his side. The child was taken to All Children's Hospital, where a spokeswoman said Monday that the family did not want any information released on his condition.
