I never realy put much thought into "I voted for it (Iraq) before I voted against it." But now I see that this tells us two VERY important things:
•Kerry is admiting that he is only human, and can be decieved/make mistakes.
•Kerry is not afraid to change his mind if he finds something not right.

And personaly, I want a leader that will NOT be afraid to change his/her mind if the situation calls for it!

Kerry voted for the version of the bill that had accounting safeguards and financed the bill by raising taxes on the top 1% and loaning the money to Iraq, to be paid out of oil revenues. BUSH THREATENED TO VETO THIS BILL!!!!!!

Kerry voted against the Bush version of the bill, which had none of the above. Kerry did this in hope that Bush's bill would go down to defeat and he would have to come back to the Senate to negotiate. Unfortunatelt Bush version passed, and now the US can't account for 8 billion.

That is how legislation is passed.

Stop spreading the lie that Kerry "flip flopped" on this bill.
