So...how much of a flirt are you?
I just got into another argument with fundie co-worker (I keep taking the bait, even though I know I shouldn't). He is counseling a member of his church about the churchgoer's wife's infidelity -- you see, she is quite flirtatious, so clearly she must be cheating. :eyes:

Now, OK -- if you are a horrible flirt and your partner can't stand it, you do have problems. But boorish behavior isn't cheating, nor is it indicative of such, at least in my book.

I flirt pretty shamelessly online. I do a lot of "business flirting" as well, at conventions (I find that the truly obnoxious stuff only comes out of the twice-my-age businessmen if I don't flirt at all, like I'm some sort of uptight conquest). I'm not all that flirtatious with my friends, or with random strangers in the bar -- although after a few cocktails, I can warm up a bit, so long as they people I'm with haven't already started talking about obscure music or hockey or something I know nothing about.

How about you?

1. I'm fairly flirtatious online
but not IRL... worried people will take me seriously. Booze helps loosen that rule up just a bit. :)

You just reminded me of the 'It's the truth!' girl from KITH... the one about her grandparents' long, happy marriage. :)

2. what some people call flirting
others call friendliness. There are huge regional differences in what constitutes polite behaviour. What is idle politeness to a southerner, is hardcore flirtation to someone from Boston. I think I'm just a polite person, but I have been called a flirt often

3. of course the downside is,
when I really am flirting with someone, they often don't notice :(

Well, not with me, anyway. I suppose I'm used to people being fairly forward, as most people I know are.

Better?

Didn't think so.
Eh. I think I'll stick to sexually suggestive puns with you. It's all under the same general umbrella...

13. I've been saying recently that my inner child is a 15-year-old boy.
And he gets tongue-tied around people he finds attractive.

Which is kind of sad, as I was perfectly capable of saying, "I find you attractive. You're sending signals that you find me attractive. What should we do about it?" by the time I was out of high school. I'm regressing.

20. Bah - "flirtation" is artifice.
There are only varying degrees of how seriously one wants to get some.

what's the harm? We both know who we're going home with.

I will occasionally indulge in Extreme Flirting, especially on the road. What happens on the road, stays on the road.;)

30. I'm an accidental flirt
I go places with friends who are girls. Like let's say a restaurant or something, and I'll joke around with the waitress and stuff, they always say "You are flirting with here pretty bad eh?"

I always tell them I'm not flirting, but they don't believe me,

31. I do here a little
I am just a friendly person and I like to hear what people have to say. (or in this case, type.)

But when one is married, no one takes that flirting seriously, do they? I don't really flirt with much of anyone in real life - and when you have your kid with you, it doesn't really make any sense. I don't think that being friendly to the opposite sex ( or in general) necessarily means flirting.

I think when people have some intent, it is interpreted as flirting.
