A great new way to lose weight!
In the last 6 days, I've already lost 10 pounds! :-D With more to follow because I'm still on the diet!

Of course, the hitch is that you've got to get the stomach flu and reduce your caloric intake to less than half of what you're already taking in... but 10 pounds is a nice start!

1. Make sure you keep up with fluid intake
even if you feel like you're floating. Getting dehydrated is even worse than having everything run out your ass.

Are you drinking Gatorade or Pedialyte to keep potassium levels up?

3. Oh, I've been making the Gatorade corporation very happy
I hope they're not owned by Pepsi... :-)

I've been drinking lots to compensate, though my weight loss is probably more water-based than fat-based. :-( Though my belly has gone down in size a tad... My diet is mostly liquid (Gatorade and water); with occasional soup or crackers, but I'm taking in maybe 500-700 calories per day right now, mostly due to the Gatorade intake. Very far from the ~2000 I had been.

I'm amazed; if it weren't for the nausea and the "opposite of vomiting" I feel almost normal.

Of course, I get all achy when I laugh so I can't watch "Family Guy"... :-(

I should try some vitamin and calcium pills as well...

4. Poor dear
you sound like I did last month! It was MISERABLE!!!

If you get sick of Gatorade, try Pedialyte popsicles. They're cool and they taste the same as Gatorade. Perhaps a little saltier. I liked 'em.

- If your stomach gets too crampy, use a heating pad. Silly in warm weather I know, but it does relax the muscles.

- Don't be surprised to learn you're losing muscle along with the water and fat. I certainly did. I lost weight alright, but I looked saggy afterwards. I lost about 16 lbs.

Take care, Thermo and do keep letting us know how you're doing!

5. EEK!
Losing muscle... ah yes, no protein in the diet probably exacerbates the problem...

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep you informed! :D

2. I did that with a bleeding ulcer!
It was great! i lost 20 pounds in like 2 weeks and really took the weight off in that month. Sure, the ulcer was miserable and avoiding flareups through diet was almost a fulltime job but HEY! I lost weight and in America that is all that counts!

Seriously, I lost 40 pounds in 6 weeks and had not only the ideal figure for height but a "slim" one. 35 of it stayed off because I still have this strange nervous relationship with my stomach. I fear "upsetting" it...and fear the ER.+
Actually, I had a friend that lost 10=15 through flu and it seemed to leave her feeling "lighter" and gave her this big boost to diet. I guess its one of those silver lining moments

hope you feel better, weight off or not!

6. Ah!
Wow, that's a lot of weight you lost!

What sort of diet are you on, to ensure you don't upset your stomach, if you don't mind me asking? :D Thanks!

7. My husband lost 50 lbs on the mono diet
Six days seems a long time to have stomach flu. You might want to go to the doctor.

8. Saw him on Friday
Unfortunately my previous doc had quit so I went to a closer location, but my records hadn't been sent over yet. I think he took the right steps, but I think he should have asked me more questions.

But time will tell, hopefully I'll be better by Monday.

9. A friend list 90 lbs on the terminal cancer diet.
Her mother said she 'never looked so good'... in the coffin.

People are fucked up.
