do you enjoy pLaying/creating scenarios? which are your favorite scenarios - whether the originaL scenarios that came with the disk, or ones you downLoaded off one of the civ2 sites or any you had the motivation/wiLL to create.

do you have sites you check reguLarLy for new games?

right now i'm pLaying civaLwar.scn and the south has risen again.

WW2, amerevoLution are outstanding as weLL.

4. Civ was the original
I remember how, if you played for a really long time, new land masses would appear at the top and bottom of the screen. If you tried to build a city there, each square had an insane amount of food, trade, and productivity. One square could power a whole city. "Magic Land of the Gods" I called it.

3. was thinking about getting Civ 3... can you give me a rundown?
I have played Medieval Total War for the past year or so and have grown bored with it, though I enjoy both the empire building & the battles. Just want a rundown of Civ 3.

Thanks

Even more effective than the Civ games

Civ III is pretty neat though. Little things make a big difference...for example every nation has its own special unit and can construct its own particular wonders (like India has the Taj Mahal or China has the Great Wall). Diplomacy is a lot more sophisticated and flexible, you can automate worker units to build roads et cetera instead of wasting funds creating raging hordes of engineers, and some of the scenarios are cool too (eg feudal japan or the Napoleonic wars)

Additional systems of government too (though fundamentalism, sadly, has been axed and replaced by fascism which has its perks)

Also the INTERWEB is one of the new Wonders of the World

Oh, and the graphics are a little better too

Edit: If you get Civ III it is advisable that you get the Conquests expansion pack too

Second Edit: the battles are a little more realistic, insofar as you can assemble armies and, as opposed to Civ II, a bevy of spearmen will not have a chance of downing a god damned stealth fighter or something
