Rush LIED about a speech at the UN. He said (I don't know who made the speech) did not condemn terrorists attacks in Israel or in Palestine. Al played the speech and it was not true.

6. Rush lied about Kofi Anan's recent speech

Said that the only country Anan mentioned was Isreal and that Anan was motivated by anti-Semitism. Franken played the speech for the dittohead, and it contained references to multiple countries and decried all kinds of hatred, including anti-Semitism. The dittohead immediately admitted that Rush was wrong, and Franken laid into him. It was great.

Fortunately, I don't have to work with anyone like that. I live in Philadelphia which is a fairly liberal city. However, lately it does seem as though some Freeper-ish bug is infecting some of the people I know. Lately, I keep finding myself talking to people who say that they hate Bush and want him out of office BUT they try to defend his actions (or rather his non-actions) on Sept.11. I just had another one of these encounters last night. This guy I know, who doesn't like Bush, said that he thought Michael Moore was being "unfair" to Bush with that scene in "F9/11" with Bush sitting in the classroom after hearing about the second attack. I had to give this guy a smackdown but then the guy on the other side of me (I was at a bar, by the way) started talking to me about the election and the first thing he says is, "John Kerry scares me". Keep in mind that these are (supposedly) Democrats. I don't know what's going on. It's getting to be like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" around here.

for the warm welcome. I have told this jerk (ex-military) numerous times that the workplace is an inappropriate forum for his Repug rantings. (I'd say the same for Dems, but we keep to ourselves, and it only occurs when we're in the parking lot). I had this jerk, my boss, and another idiot totally f'ing BAG on me. It's usually the f'ing liberals this, the goddamn dems that... My boss, an African-American at that, even uses "Jew" as a verb!! To me, it's a hostile work environment because it's making me hostile. The jerk's wife calls every 10 minutes. She wanted to discuss gay marriage with the jerk. Like that couldn't have waited until jerk got home form work? Anyhow, the convo lasted about 45 minutes. I did get the jerk to shut up at least once: he said he didn't like gays pushing their agenda. I said, "Oh, and how did you feel about blacks pushing THEIR agenda in the 60's?"

My question: does the military inject their recruits with this BS or what?
