I'm getting real sick of the dentist
But at least I'm getting good NO2 and pain meds.

3 more--and hopefully the last--teeth pulled today.

2. Mine's a rich little bush lover.
So that's why it's been awhile since I've been back.

4. My last dentist was a Scientologist
which I thought was weird because they're supposed to be against drug use or at least that's what I've read and heard.

This current one is an ex-stoner, so he's great when it comes to making sure you're out-of-it before he does anything to you.

8. They said it wouldn't be necessary
I'm guessing if it were an option they'd have told me... they usually try to get as much money as possible.

9. Tell your dentists that you are scared
Anxiety management is part of dental treatment these days. They really don't want an uncomfortable patient in their chair.
Please call your dentist (or the periodontist who's doing the surgery).

12. Yep, that's the way to go
My dentist told me that if a dentist doesn't take into consideration the panic factor then they're not worth seeing. He said if I needed NO2 to come in just to have my teeth looked at then he'd give it to me rather than have me have a panic attack, which I get.

16. A night-before and day-of Valium can be prescribed
It really does help the panic stricken.

14. Gum surgery
I've had it twice-once years ago. It depends on how many quadrants your dentist is doing, but if you are "good" it means you keep your teeth and can actually hear wonderful things like, "You're doing great."

6. How many damn molars do you have?
}(

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Trust me when I say that no DDS likes to extract teeth.

10. I've had to have most of my teeth pulled in the last few years
I went through about 10 years where we couldn't afford rent let alone insurance or dentist appointments. What can you do?

7. how much for the N20?
I had a huge crown done a few months ago and was charged $65.00 for the N20. This seemed outrageous to me. Is it?

I had not had N20 in several years I'll have to admit.

Good luck with hopefully your last visit.

I hate the dentist too and yup, mine in s bushovec too ... :grr:

11. I'm not sure....
Another family member is being kind enough to pay for the work.

I wish it were the last, but next comes the root canals.

13. Does sound like too much
I pay around 20 to 22 bucks a session. But I love our dentist because he works on a payment plan for us. With this family and these evil teeth we were born with I always joke we will NEVER ever rip him off.

15. that is what I paid before
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 11:48 AM by baldearg
Pissed me off like all hell, believe me. After the insurance paid for part of the crown, the portion I was left to pay was about $150.00 - the N20 was an additional $65.00.

I have to go again soon to get another tooth fixed. They asked me going out the door if I wanted N20 again and I said NO, can't afford it ... (felt like adding in YOU RIP-OFF'S!). They claimed the reason the price is so high is because the cost of N20 has gone up a lot recently.

Such bullshit. Jesus.

Thanks for the replies.

khephra: I hope they give you lots of it being you aren't footing the bill!

:D
