How Does Your Luck Run? Good or Bad?
Mine is usually bad. I grew up hearing that if you apply yourself and work hard, you will be rewarded someday. Well, I've done that at every job that I've ever had; and it always turns out that somebody new comes along, kisses some ass, and winds up my boss. Hell, I'm always too busy to kiss up to anybody.

1. Mine is bad most of the time.
Money problems, health issues, unhappiness about the problems in my family, my depression....nothing seems to go right.

4. I don't want to wallow in self-pity. But dammit.
"Why do bad things happen to good people". It's a concept I can definitely relate to. Because it's something that applies to a lot of people I care about.

6. I know what you're saying...
I try not to wallow in it either, but sometimes it just gets to me. I know that I have it a lot better than some people, but I also know that I have it a lot worse than some who do nothing to deserve it.

Now I know nothing about you, but I can say that you are a very intelligent person. I read your posts whenever I'm on DU. In addition to enlightening me, you crack me up.

7. You helped me feel better already.
I know I should put things in perspective. Yes, other people do have it worse than i (I don't have a fatal disease. I have a job and a roof over my head). But the life I know best is mine, of course. And that's what I relate to.

Thank you for the compliments, Tom. Sometimes I must seem very silly on here. But I'm touched that you would say such nice stuff about me.

You are an very intelligent guy. I like reading your posts. You're someone I'd like to know better. :-)

8. You're welcome!
Thanks for the compliment, too! I guess all we can do is hang tough and hope things get better, but my arms do get tired sometimes. :) Take care!!

3. I don't believe in luck...
Don't you know it's bad luck to be superstitious.

9. Like an old fella I used to know said,
"Every morning I wake up and there's no dirt on my face I consider a lucky day."
