Is there a cop in the house?
If so, please go to this thread and straighten something out for us. My pop was in the F.O.P. and claimed it functioned as a union. We have a couple of posters that claim that the F.O.P. is in no way a union.

2. I don't believe it was a 'union' as we define unions
as far as having negotiating power etc.. but I can see where it may have some political pull. It's more like the Elks or those old fez hat wearing groups.


BUT, I don't know for sure - I'm just going by memory of my dad being a police officer.
