Does anyone else not like the name "Ask Auntie Pinko" for a column?

I just shudder everytime I see it. It's so silly and demeaning at the same time. I just don't like it and wanted to see if I was the only one...

And I had the same initial reaction. Reminds me of the "Pinko Fag" comments I used to hear in the late 60s.

You know, sort of how I put the thing about "demented ravings" at the bottom of my column. You know they're gonna say it about you, so you may as well do it first and get the laugh for your side.

In a column some time ago, she explained the reasoning for that moniker. And as for me, anytime somebody attacks me personally for my politics or whatever I just wear it as a badge of honor. Screw 'em.

7. I've always been repulsed by that column title

I've been visiting DU for nearly 3 years now, but have never read that column. When I first started visiting here, that column name definitely turned me off. Eventually I forgot all about it as I discovered the discussion board and starting skipping right past the home page.
