I'm Watching "American Splendor"
What a great movie. What a great love story. Now, this is what I call a romantic movie.

1. I love that movie
I got it on DVD the day it came out and had seen it twice in the theaters. I agree - it's very romantic. Just a great film all-around. One of my favorites of recent years.

2. I've worked with Harvey.
Paul Giamatti NAILED him. That was one of the best, most formally innovative films in recent years. I truly believe it might have done something at the Oscars if RotK hadn't come out the same year. (Though IRL, Harv does kind of look and sound like Gollum.)

4. But it was filmed on the West side.

Pekar lives in Cleveland Heights and worked at the VA.

I mean, artistic license is one thing, but this is ridiculous. :eyes:

5. picky picky
I love that movie. It made Pekar seem so loveable, if that is possible. I thought it was really sweet. Made me realize that I had never really "gotten" the cartoons, on some level.
