If I want to shrink an 100% cotton shirt
How do I go about it, and how far can I shrink the sucker?

1. hot water and a
hot drier - 2 to 3 sizes depending on what is to begin with, sure its not preshrunk? Also quality of fabric and weave or knit will affect it shapeliness.

2. I bought a shirt that's a little too large for my taste

So I'm determined to shrink the thing down. I'm assuming since the care tag recommends 'cold water' that it will shrink nicely in hot. Thanks! I'll tell you how it turns out.

3. and wash it ALONE!
If it has color, hot water will bleed the dyes. It will shrink as you wish though.

4. It's probably put together with
a poly/cotton thread so be prepared for a deformity if anything happens at all. Poly/cotton thread doesn't shrink. Be retro. Remember the early 90's and the grunge look ? Everything oversized.

7. Are you talking about a knit (t-shirt) or other cotton (flannel, denim)?
With some really hot H20 and a hot dryer, you can shrink a cotton t-shirt, or flannel or denim shirt down a size or two.

Broadcloth **might** come down a size, but probably not as much as the others.

Good luck!
