8. Firefox is an alternative to micro$oft
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 08:54 PM by chair094
It's basically a substitute for Internet Explorer. I'm just taking it for a test drive right now, but if I know DU, someone will come along with more info than I have.

Here's what I know: hackers usually design their viruses and other such stuff for IE, Firefox isn't affected as badly, it has more security than IE, it has some built-in protections against spyware, and many people claim it runs faster than IE (though right now the university network as a whole is really slowed down, so this is hard to test). Many, many people would recommend Firefox over IE, and I finally succumbed to them.:D

Edit: You can use tabs instead of having 3 million IE windows open, too. Extremely useful for multitasking.:)

9. I like the tabs
People say it's faster than micro$oft, but now isn't the best time to verify this as the university network is slow tonight and affecting everything (though it DID seem worse with micro$oft).

13. I'm in a similar situation
Sometimes I'll have 2 DU windows open, an e-bay window, and another window where I can view archives of what I'm bidding on on e-bay.

And God forbid I wanted to check my e-mail while doing this...that requires 2 more windows.

14. Using IE
is like using a volkswagen at the indy 500. IE is just a starter kit for beginners and a playground for hackers.

Internet Explorer sucks. It's buggy, shares responsibility for many of the security issues in Windows, and offers far to many ways for people to compromise your system.

Claiming that Microsoft Windows system is the best in the world because more people use it is like saying McDonalds makes the best food in the world.
