3. I am the queen of self blame
Everything that I can be remotely blamed for, I blame myself for. I blame myself for things other people do while taking full responsibility for my actions. I think this comes from having divorced parents that got angry at my sister and I for stuff the other parent did. Since I was the more responsible child, I was also blamed for stuff my sister did. For example, it was my fault if I did not get up on time for school. It was my fault if my sister did not wake up on time for school even though she had an alarm clock too. And if I were a better, more loveable child, my father would have wanted to pay more child support. If I had been a better, more loveable child, my mother would have been happier and not always angry or sad. Where does this leave me? I am in quality assurance and therefore responsible for the product leaving the plant regardless of who made the original mistake, even if it should have been obvious to them. I am responsible for my husband waking up on time and getting to anything on time even though he has an alarm clock. If I were a better, nicer friend, my friends would always be happy. What am I to do?
