And quite frankly my time is worth something given the hours I have to dink w my damn XP box. And I know you love Linux, and I do too in theory, but not ready for prime time (dinking) and doesn't run the apps I need.

I prefer my sun machines (e450 and ultra 2), but I don't have anything against macs. To me the biggest problems are not the OS, the biggest problems are usually between the keyboard and the chair...

13. Just bought a 12" iBook to take to Japan

in place of my 2000 model clamshell iBook, which I retired after four years of trouble-free service, including upgrades to OS X and installation of an Airport card.

I was very fond of the old clamshell, even though it weighed a ton, but I like this one even better: $1099 for the base model, plus doubled RAM, an Airport card, and MS Office installed by the dealer at a low price.

And I don't have to stretch my briefcase to fit it in!
