Well, I know it's kind of late, I hope I didn't wake you
I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song
Jim Croce

Well, I know it's kind of late
I hope I didn't wake you
But what I got to say can't wait
I know you'd understand
Ev'ry time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Yeah, I know it's kind of strange
But ev'ry time I'm near you
I just run out of things to say
I know you'd understand
Ev'ry time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Ev'ry time the time was right
All the words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Yeah, I know it's kind of late
I hope I didn't wake you
But there's something that I just got to say
I know you'd understand
Ev'ry time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

This man died WAY too soon. Imagine all the music he would have made had he lived.

3. I saw him
a little while before he died. He was playing at my university and as a student of the music department I knew just where to go so I could be backstage and watch from the wings. It was a good concert. Yes, he did die too soon. Thanks for the memory.
