Could you raise a child on 5K a month? How about 10K?
Is she looking out for her child?

Or herself?

Sept. 10, 2004 | New York -- The baby mama drama just won't stop for P. Diddy. The mogul also known as Sean Combs says he's hurt that the mother of his first child has gone to court to increase his child support payments, claiming that "it's ridiculous to think any of my kids would want for anything."

Combs called The Associated Press on Thursday night to talk about the legal action filed against him by Misa Hylton-Brim, the mother of their 10-year-old son, Justin.

"We've had a great relationship, and then all of the sudden I got hit with a lawsuit for more money," he said.

In August, a Westchester County magistrate ordered Combs to increase his child support from a reported $5,000 per month to about $35,000. That's the same amount he pays to model Kim Porter, the mother of his second child, Christian. Combs and Porter are currently "together."

1. Can't they both just work something out quietly, instead of dragging the
kid through the dreck?

2. I think it's possible to go through the courts AND
keep the kids out of it.

Going to court for more money never caused a problem for my child.

Staying out of the press might be a good idea though.

6. It's only a problem if the parents do drag the kid into it
That can happen whether it is done in court or privately. The trauma is caused when parents say stuff like "If your dad loved you more, he would gladly pay that money." or "Your mother is a money grubbing, b--ch." Since this is in the media, the kid probably will hear the statements. We don't know what is said to him in private though.

3. Although that seems like a lot, he is worth a lot
While she may be seeking more money to buy more things for herself, not the child, we must consider that the child is the son of a rich man. I remember a local case in which an owner of a local factory had an affair and there was a child from the affair. He was rich while the woman was working class. She asked for about $10,000 per month. Many people, including her working class family and friends. thought that was a ridiculous amount. Her statement was that her child was the child of a successful business owner and he deserved to be raised as that.

5. Both, I'm sure.
35,000 a month to most of us sounds insane, but for people in the 9 figure world, it's peanuts. I don't doubt that the non-custodial support receiving parent dips into that when we're talking about that amount, however. But, the kid is entitled to child support, and it is decided on how much the non-custodial parent makes, so I have no problem with the amount, as crazy as it looks.

7. Puffy Poof Ball (or whatever he's calling himself now)
....is a very wealthy man making any child he would have a kidnapping target. The security alone would be more than $5 grand a month.

Shell out the bucks, stop whining, and get a vasectomy Poofy!
