Whats your fav Bob Marley song?
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 06:26 AM by LiberalVoice
I'm gonna say my fav is "No Woman No Cry". Everytime I hear it I feel like lighting up a J and watching the sunset. :smoke:

3. The live version of
"No Woman No Cry" from the Roxy, Hollywood, CA (5-26-76) is great.
I also love "Positive Vibrations," "War," "Exodus," and I especially love him with Peter Tosh on their great "Get Up! Stand Up!"

4. My son likes Bob Marley since he was an infant
and "No Woman No Cry" used to shut him up when he was fussy.

I have to thank Bob Marley for that. Maybe I should light up a candle for him since you already have a J lit for him. :-)

9. If he shot the sheriff,
it really doesn't matter that he didn't shoot the deputy, does it? He's screwed already.

17. Yeah, but it was self defense!
Sheriff John Brown always hated he.
For what, I don't know.

10. "Redemption Song"
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 07:38 AM by mac56
Oh pirates, yes they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit

But my aim was made strong
By the hands of the almighty
We fought in this generation
Triumphantly

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom
'Cause all I ever had
Redemption song

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time

How long shall we kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fulfill the book

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom
'Cause all I ever had
Redemption song

12. His son does a great version
of his farewell song with the Chieftains. The Irish influence is wonderfully sad, and the slave ship-famine ship connection is intense.

16. Is this love is this love is this love is this love that I'm feeling?
I wanna love ya, I wanna love and treat, love and treat you right
I wanna love ya, every day and every night.

#2 Three Little Birds
#3 Redemption Song

All a toss up, really.
Legend is one of my top 10 cds, I'm embarrassed to say I'm largely unfamiliar with the totality of his work.
