Zombie Question

So tell me: Why are zombies always chasing after the living to eat them when there's plenty of their own kind walking about?

Their palates can't be that discrimnating now, can't they?

1. fresh meat

any good zombie appreciates some nice, fresh human flesh on the menu.

2. The walking dead are brainless, and hungry -

for brains, brains, brrraaaiiins.

3. Actually the ones I've talked to are very....

discriminating. They insist on uncontaminated flesh with blood that
isn't infected with "Zombie Germs".

They also confided in me that Grade "B" actors taste the best for some strange reason...

4. well.. how do u even move at all when your tissues are non-functional.

for this reason i always considered them to be under the control of some supernatural force.
(and so they dont really have to make any sense if thats the case)

5. I think they need live flesh...

after all they would seem to be parasites wouldn't they? And I can't think of any real parasites that feed off their own kind...
Plus they're decaying and rancid ...maybe they have need for special diets like heart patients or diabetics????

But..once the zombies have taken over the world and dispatched of every living thing left what would they eat? ....Food for thought?

7. They think and act like cancer..

They seek out fresh, uninfected flesh like a malignant tumor. They have no desire to consume the flesh of the dead..it is biologically redundant. Cancer seeks out new flesh because it exhausts the "nutrients" in healthy cells needed to perpetuate itself and grow. The living dead seek only living flesh because of the primitive brain, the last part of the brain to decompose upon death. It is that primitive remnant that drives the zombie...and nothing else. Somewhere inside the zombie brain there is a signal telling it to consume warm, living flesh...that ingesting life will somehow bring back it's own...

But think of a zombie as a form of cancer, an independent and mobile walking malignant tumor seeking out healthy flesh to feed and thrive upon. It won't go after other zombies because there is no new flesh to consume and reproduce within.
