Where were you when you first heard about the Niger documents.
Everyone says that about 9/11, so I thought I would cross apply the question to something ridiculous.

I was at debate conference, and one of the kids that wasn't participating at conference, came up late, just to hang out. He told me and the rest of us that Iraq purchased WMD or uranium, whatever it was from Niger. The part that I found funny, was that I alone questioned the documents, and I alone didn't believe it. I made many bets about it that day, and I think someone even started yelling at me for it. Anyway, it's time for them damn debaters to pay up.

Where were you. I really don't expect anyone to remember, I don't know why I do.

1. I don't really remember, but I did post a big BS on GD that
night. I do not know why anyone with half a brain fell for that in the first place, it had been in the news before and did not hunt then either.

2.  I remember, I was watching
the head of the UN nuclear inspection team, El Baradea (sp?) give his report to the UN. In that report, he stated they investigated the evidence provided by US and found them to be unreliable, probable forgeries. I think that was in early Feb. This is one reason I find Rice's and Rumsfeld's statement that they just found out in March or later so absolutely unbelievable. You cannot ever convince me that they were not paying attention to every word spoken by those inspectors!!

3. Before the war
I read about it in the Guardian. I'm so happy that they are going to have a US version.

At the same time, there was another scandal about the us bugging the un offices of countries that were undecided whether to support the war.

4. That's a tough one
I think it wasn't too long after I joined DU--November 2002. Something in LBN.
