Anyone else think Jerry Lewis might not make it thru his telethon?

5. This is the first year the MDA telethon hasn't been shown

in this area, central Florida. All the local stations have preempted everything with hurricane coverage. Does he still look bloated? How much has been raised? I hope he makes his goal.

7. I Think

He has a very serious lung problem and has been on a steady diet
of prednisone for years. He claims it is the only thing that helps
him and prednisone will make you gain lots and lots of weight.
Remember how think he used to be as a young man - actually skinny.

thanks. Yes I do know about that steroid, I take it. He must be taking huge amounts of it. I have a condition where I have to take it but my doctor only gives it to me twice a year and I think I need it every 3 weeks or so. So I suffer through a lot. He tells me if I got it as often as every 3 weeks, it would screw up my liver and a few other organs and he refuses to give it to me more often. It works wonders, when I getit, for about 2 or 3 weeks I am perfectly normal, no pain.

11. Pulmonary Fibrosis

Terrible disease my mom died from it and yes the prednisone causes massive weight gain, but Jerry is actually thinner this year than he was in the past two years--about 50 pounds off due to decreasing the dose of the drug. But he will make it thru the telethon--he actually is in better shape, believe it or not.

By the way, did anybody see the tribute to Mattie? it was awesome. Jimmy Carter was at his funeral and said he had known Kings, Queens, Presidents, but this thirteen year old poet for peace who was fighting MD was the most incredible person he ever met. Beautiful.

9. prednisone

is a nasty horrible wonderful drug. I have to take massive doses and yeah I look like Jerry. But it's the only thing that works. waaa

That's what happened to me. At least I can't take prednisone anymore (unless my lungs are very wet) - I fucking HATE how it makes me feel.
