You could bury it in the yard, if you have one. Or your vet could cremate it, if you'd like to keep the ashes. The urns can be lovely. There are pet cemetaries for those who like that sort of thing.

To hell with the "laws".. We buried our Miss Kitty and put a very nice patio over her, so no one would disturb her grave.. Our sons carved her name into the concrete..along with the other pets.:)..Kids cannot resist wet concrete..
who would lay next to Nala(his sister)and snuggle up like a big baby.It's so sad like one of the family.About 10 years ago a pregnant cat showed up on our front area meowing and hungry.My wife ended up delevering 5 kittens even opening the little sacks they were in.We kept 1 Smokey and my sis-in-law Carol took Simba and Nala when we moved together we had all 3 plus Patches who died in the spring.I'm in shock why I am I writing this
