Do you have to close your closet doors before you sleep?

I've closed my closet doors every night since I was a small child. Sometimes I'm about to fall asleep and get up and close the doors. Old childhood fears are hard to get rid of. BTW....neither of my children has ever worried about the monsters in the closet. :shrug:

Like I said from my poll post , I had a sliding door closet . And if there was any bit not closed then I would make contraptions to make it close lol . I just knew that behind those cracks , the boogeyman was just waiting for me to go to sleep . Now I can go to sleep in the complete dark . Yeah I did not do that until I was 19 lol .

...fried octopus under my bed. I had never heard of calimari. And I wouldn't touch the stuff if I was starving.

Now I have my dog and my husband to protect me. As a kid, not only did I close closet doors and look under the bed, I also slept with the covers over my head so any monsters or bad guys wouldn't see me .

but I can't have any part of my body hanging over the edge of the bed, based on some scary movie I saw as a child. Who knows what lurks under the bed.
